The girls have been asking me for ages....

To make flapjacks, I have to be in the mood to bake and I got the bug tonight.

This flapjack recipe is the best one I have found.  My friend gave it to me and she found it in a Tweenies magazine when her middle daughter was 3, she is now nearly 13.

I thought I would share it with all of you, so you can give it a go.

I have tried different things with this recipe to make it my own, also to find what works for me,

I personally use caster sugar and not brown sugar, I find it sticks better together.

The Recipe:
Pinch of Salt
12oz/300g Oats
9oz Butter/Margarine
6oz Brown Sugar
2 Table Spoons of Golden Syrup

The Method:
Melt the butter, Sugar and Syrup in a pan.
Put the oats in and stir in till its all mixed together.

Then pour into a tray.

20-30 Minutes in the oven at 190oc

Mine only go in for 20 minutes and then harden up sat on the side.

Everything in the pan, all stirred together.

All in my medium bar pan ready to go into the oven.

I have found that after they come out the oven not to cut them straight away, let them cool slightly then cut them but leave them still in the tray for the bottom to stick together a bit more.

Did not realise how fuzzy this picture was until I went to put a frame round it.  flapjacks just out the oven

The flapjacks all cut ready to be taken out when completely cold.

I love this recipe, you can add things to it to make it more healthy like raisins or chocolate chips or even dried pieces of fruit. you can have them big pieces or little pieces like I have.  I have made these for snacks at school so small pieces are the idea size for when they are at school.

Hope you enjoy the recipe like I do.  I also made some chocolate chip muffins while these were cooking.

Saturday Afternoon Walk

After a rubbish Friday evening, Daddy decided that we should go and do something Saturday afternoon.

Kira came up with the idea of going for a walk, she wanted to take Spirit for a walk, that doesn't happen very often so me and Daddy took the opportunity, I did suggest taking Kira's bike but she didn't like that idea, Kacy's bike has no breaks.   So we decided to go for a walk in Sankey Valley park.

It was only a short walk but it did as all good after the events on Friday evening.

Just after we crossed the road near our house they were all walking in a line holding hands, I love this picture. 4 peas in a pod.

While walking on the main road and over the bridge Kacy was asking Daddy all sorts of questions regarding, the moon the atmosphere, they were the two things I heard about.

On the way to the green bridge Kira and Summer were being so sweet holding hands. with it being after 1pm the Sun was very low so the pictures are not that brilliant.

We were about to cross a main road and Kira found a stump, she wanted to stand on it, so of course the other two did as well.

We got into Sankey Valley and Kacy spotted this square brick thing, Daddy said it was something to do with for the horses when the had the horses pulled the narrow boats down the canal which is mostly filled in now with wild flowers.  Kacy and Kira sat on it, got Summer to sit on it but she was hoping Daddy would sit with her, but he didn't want his photo taken.

We carried on walking, I went to give Spirit a treat and Summer wanted to do it, so then while we were walking all the girls took it in turn to give Spirits treats when I said they could, if it was up to Summer she would of stood there and given all the treats to Spirit in one go.

Kira and Summer chased after Spirit when she ran around and shouting her, Spirit went to them near the end and managed to get a good picture of them together.

We put Spirit back on her lead with a pond coming up and people fishing, we headed home along the main road.  Summer helped by holding Spirits lead with help from me.

We got home and Kira went straight round to next door to play with there little girl, Summer was happy to play with the play doh with Daddy, Me and Kacy took the opportunity to go and watch a film in her room, I caved and let her watch twilight breaking dawn part 1, we watched part 2 today.

It was a lovely chilled afternoon, What the weekends are all about.

My Sunday photo

This was taken at Delemere forest.

My Birthday and Delamere Forest

On Tuesday it was my Birthday, Daddy dropped the girls of at school while I got ready.  When he got back we went out for breakfast at my favorite place Frankie and Bennys, we both had the pancakes with bacon.

We finished our breakfast and headed home to grab Spirit, change our shoes and made sure we had warm clothes on.  I originally wanted to go to Formby beach or Crosby beach but the weather being so cold and it being an hour away we decided against it especially with the school run being at 3 o clock.

We got to Delemere it was extremely cold but was lovely just to be outside in the fresh air.

We started walking but soon had to go to one side due to some horses, Spirit has only seen horses in the car and barked and got really excited, she was good she didn't bark once she just howled. While making sure the horses had plenty of time to get further on I just had to take a selfie

I then asked Daddy to take one of Spirit, this was the best one out of 4/5

We let Spirit of the lead so she could go and have a run and explore.  It was such a nice day, it was so fresh and crisp and very slippy in places where the ice was down, I am so glad I didn't fall over, there was times I nearly I did, we saw Spirit slip a couple of times, even Daddy slipped on the ice.

Some of the views of the day.

We did see a massive spiders web I tried to take a photo of it, but it wouldn't come out it was stunning though.

The horses we saw at the beginning of the walk we managed to bump into them three times, the last time Spirit saw them before we did and she was fantastic with them, she didn't bark or anything just went up to them and walked of, was more bothered by the other dog that was with them.

The horses going past, The gruffalo and Daddy

Saying we were at Delemere forest and we managed to find the Gruffalo without trying I just had to take a picture of him, love that book.

Of course I had to get one of Spirit with the Gruffalo, Excuse the shadow the sun was directly behind me.

The last time we managed to catch the horses up I took some pictures of Spirit of the lead trying to waste time so Spirit wouldn't catch up with the horses or the dog.

We started heading back towards the car and the cafe to get a drink.  We sat outside while having our drink and this Robin was jumping around the tables behind Daddy.

It was such a lovely walk, loved every minute of it.  We could of walked further around the Mere but we didn't think we would have time, we have decided we will go again and explore further.

My Favorite Products

I started my own business in May 2014 with Forever Living.  It is going extremely well, I am loving the products, what I have learned in the short space of time and the amazing friends I have made along the way.  So I thought I would show you all my top 5 products and how they have helped me and my family.

My First Favorite product is ~ the Aloe Vera Drinking Gel, it is a taste you have to learn to love, this has help with my Ibs and my ankles, knees and hands, (yep I am not 50 only 28). Matty Aka Daddy has just started taking this drink to help with his eczema, also Spirit to keep her healthy.  The girls take the peach one with a sweeter taste to it, Kira doesn't always knows she is having it, Kacy takes it every day no problems, it has helped massively with her stomach aches, Summer I put it in her squash and she doesn't notice any difference.
Pure stabilised aloe vera gel which is as close to the natural plant juice as possible, containing over 200 different compounds. This rich source of nutrients provides the perfect supplement to a balanced diet. Drink to promote a healthy lifestyle and well-being.

My Second Favorite Product is ~ The Aloe Vera Gelly.  If anyone knows me, they know I am a walking disaster, I am always cutting, falling or hurting myself in some sort of way.  I have sliced the top of  my thumb and it has helped it heal a lot quicker then it would of done using the normal antiseptic creams.  I put this on burns, cuts, grazes, sore noses when the girls have colds.

Topical, clear gel which soothes scars, calms irritation and abrasions and is suitable for even the most sensitive skin. Essentially identical to the aloe vera’s inner leaf, this 100% stabilised aloe vera gel lubricates sensitive tissue safely.
My Third Favorite Product is ~ The Propolis Cream, I use this on my face as a daily face cream, with the bad weather my skin drys out so quickly well this year it hasn't happened because I am using the propolis cream.  I put this on any eczema patches we have, I use it on my dermatitis,  when the a cut has stopped whipping or bleeding, I use this product as well as the as Aloe Vera Gelly to help the healing process

A rich, creamy blend of aloe vera, bee propolis and camomile to help maintain healthy, beautiful skin tone and texture, with moisturising and conditioning properties. The Aloe Propolis Creme makes an excellent everyday moisturiser and helps to soothe irritation.

My Fourth Favorite Product is ~ A Joint one The Artic Sea and the Bee Pollen, they have helped me no end with my depression and if I am feeling stressed or tired I just take a couple more Bee Pollen.

The human body needs omega-3 fatty acids but is unable to make them, so this important ingredient should be included in our diet. With its blend of natural fish and calamari oil, Forever Arctic Sea is rich in omega-3 fatty acids.

Forever Bee Pollen is gathered from the blossoms that blanket remote, high desert regions. This ensures the freshest and most potent natural product. This all-natural supplement contains no preservatives or artificial flavours and is ideal to take during the summer months when the pollen count is high.

My Fifth Favorite Product is ~ The Tooth Gel, I suffered a lot with ulcers, since using the tooth gel I haven't had any, no more bleeding gums.  The whole family uses the tooth gel.

This gentle, non-fluoride formula contains aloe vera and bee propolis to help to strengthen and protect teeth and gums whilst fighting plaque. With no bleaching agents, children and adults will love it!
